Sugar Land Rotary donated $18,000 to Santa's Exchange held on December 18, 2010, at First Colony Church of Christ. More than 3,500 young people benefitted from this community collaboration between Project SMILE, Rotary, Exchange and many other caring community members and organizations.
Sugar Land Rotary partnered with Project SMILE, The Exchange Club of Sugar Land, Fort Bend Exchange Club, Bethel Church, First Colony Church of Christ, local schools and many other caring community members to make the holidays brighter for over 3,500 young people in the Fort Bend Community. Sugar Land Rotary alone donated $18,000 to Santa's Exchange in addition to countless volunteer hours. Steve Weathered, Event Co-Chair, said, "One of the impressive things about Santa's Exchange is that students in our community are seeing what impact their efforts have to help children in need. The service learning experience for students and adults is a tremendous part of Santa's Exchange."
