Please plan to join Sugar Land Rotarians in honoring our great nation’s veterans at a special Annual Sugar Land Rotary Veterans Day Celebration on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Sweetwater Country Club, 4400 Palm Royale Blvd., Sugar Land from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Hal Jay, Rotary Veterans Day Committee Member, said Sugar Land Rotary plans to use the event to honor veterans in the local community. “This year we will have John Prazynski retired from the U.S. Air Force as our featured speaker. He has been given many state and federal awards including the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award,” said Jay.

Prazynski is the father of Lance Corporal Taylor B. Prazynski, United States Marine Corps, who was killed in action in May 2005 in Kharma, Iraq, during Operation Matador. Lance Corporal Prazynski received the Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon and many other state and national awards. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

The meal will be complimentary of Sugar Land Rotary and Friends for all veterans and their spouses. The cost for Rotarians and non-veteran guests will be $25 per person. Table sponsorships are also available for $200 each. Buy a table and donate seats for veterans invited by Sugar Land Rotary. For reservations or a table sponsorship, contact Sonny Johnston at sonnycpa@windstream.net or (281) 240-5700 or fax (281) 242-5757.
