The Sugar Land Rotary Club had an insightful meeting with Mike Andrade as our speaker on Wednesday, July 31. What a great way to end the month! He gave some very helpful tips on how important it is to have an “elevator pitch“ for the organization that you’re representing. It has to be impactful, and personal, so that people can relate to it. In addition to giving us a great lessons, Mike is an important member and leader in our community, and serves on the board for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
Come join President Mark Heuchert on a Rotary International Project! This is a long-standing Rotary project that district 5890 hosts with volunteers from around the country.
Saturday 3 August Sugar Land Rotary Rotarians showed up to help out a wonderful organization called Sole Loved 2024. We helped size feet, give out socks and fit shoes for hundreds of kids this morning. Many thanks the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, Inc., their members, and the whole community for coming out.
And again, I was so happy to see our new Sister Club called the Sugar Land Rotary Action Club there as well. Tara and Dipika were both there. And the upcoming President of the Clements HS Rotary Interact Club, Lexi, was there!
It was a wonderful morning at Bethel Ministry on Thursday, August 1st where Sugar Land Rotary Club Rotarians got together with the local community for Bethel Ministry packing school supplies event.
We also had very special Rotarians from the brand new Rotary Companion Club, called the Sugar Land Rotary Action Club. Their next meeting is August 15 at 6pm! Check out our website calendar for details.
So thankful for everyone who takes the time to organize this and put smiles on kids faces as they receive all the goodies they need to start off their school year. Thanks to everyone that came, and we even raised a bit of money!
All Club Members: please purchase shoes and socks for this event!
Here are some ideas on what to buy:

- Click on the pictures below for links to Amazon. These are just ideas. Prices vary by size.
This is IMPORTANT! The best way to learn about Rotary is with other Rotarians. I strongly encourage members to attend this event to meet other Rotarians and to learn from the best.
It is on Saturday September 21 from 8am to 12pm at the San Jacinto College Center for Petrochemical, Energy & Technology.
